Adventure is Out There!

You know what’s incredible?

I can be whatever I want to be. Anything at all.

I could be a teacher! A coach! A writer! A Cast Member! A clown! A beach bum! A CEO!

The point is, I can aspire to anything; I truly believe a little diligence goes a long way.  It’s just so incredible to think about. A few years ago, I was stuck in one mindset: “I’m going be a teacher and a coach, just like little me has always thought I wanted to be.”

Now I’m not so sure.

Uncertainty doesn’t have to be a bad thing, however. I’m young and I refuse to be limited in my options. Even if I go after something and fail, at least I’ll know I gave it a shot. It’s cliché, but you really do miss all of the shots you don’t take.

Each of us possesses a vision of how we want our life to be. Let’s make that vision a glimpse into our wildest dreams and go for it. Even if that vision changes throughout our lives, the very fact that we’ve worked toward something can mean the world; trying and aspiring, in my opinion, is much more commendable than sitting back and watching opportunities fly by.

I want to share a print I bought my last trip to Disney World; it’s so simple, yet it speaks volumes. The moment I saw it in the art gallery on Main Street, my heart ached and my eyes filled with inspired tears. This print just absolutely motivates me:

Walt Disney started with some swamp and transformed it into the place of his dreams, the most magical place on this planet. How amazing is that? This print reminds me I can shape my own castle out of the swampy areas of my life. I am in control of my future, no matter how wonderfully uncertain it may seem. Each endeavor I choose to pursue becomes a little piece of the vision. Eventually, that vision will turn into some sort of reality; it is up to me to make my reality a reflection of my attitude and diligence.

I am definitely not naive, I know things don’t always turn out as planned. That’s the fun part. Sometimes the things you don’t see coming transform into the most magical castle of your dreams.

Embrace the uncertainty, my friends. Build your castle brick by brick, day by day. Just know that you aren’t bound to any blueprint, and that sometimes the unknown makes things exciting. Let’s make our castles uniquely our own and embrace every adventure we can. We can try anything and everything that we see fit. Our ideas our limitless.

Hello there Kaila! 🙂 I am currently stalking your colorful, happy blog page and I absolutely love it! I love reading about your Disney obsession and your love for the wonderful month of October! (Also my favorite month) And I can’t help but smile when I read your funny little puns throughout your writings (Definitely very Kailia-ish!)
Thanks for posting about happy, optimistic things because we all need a little encouragement sometimes, and to just read something that makes us happy. Especially during very stressful college times…I am actually reading this in between classes. And in classes. No shame!
Anyways I just wanted to say hello and that I enjoy reading your blog! You are very talented and have a knack for these things! (TAPPS Ready Writing, anyone?) Keep writing, I love it
